Day 10

Well, today's weather sucked. Just enough rain that we couldn't work on the hardwood flooring that is sitting outside. Then there was a power outage - so we took a nap for 2 hours. Much needed!! When we started work again it was 9pm and we moved some of the tools from my uncle's house to the shop at my parent's house. Time to start the second 20 foot platform!!

While Sylvain was working on the platform (no pictures - imagine the same circular floor but just a bit smaller!), Uncle James and I were working on the benches for the property. He had some extra cedar bits and pieces lying around, and we made them into these great benches! Definitely the highlight of the day.

Other news, our composting toilet has arrived in Whitehorse, our solar energy system has been delivered and now we are just awaiting our final pieces of furniture to come here. Lots of time - opening isn't until May 28!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

These are the ends for the benches before they are trimmed to how we like them. I spent a few hours sanding them last week.
