Ice Bike Race

The bike club organized an ice bike race this past Sunday. I wasn't there for the intense action and when i showed up with food and hot chocolate - the race seemed instantly over! But everyone had fun and it was snowing like crazy. Fun!

Alright, I am just putting a variety of pictures on here so you guys can see what we have been
up to for the last while. Sorry for the formatting. I forgot how much i hated entering stuff on this blog!!!

First we start back in September. This is a group of us heading up Montana Mountain in Carcross, Yukon. They have built a tonne of mt bike trails there through a cooperative program between the Carcross Tagish First Nation. The point of the "Singletrack to Success" program is to promote local First Nation youth to participate in creating a recreational play area. Very cool trails - super fun.

Up next is our October trip to Haines, Alaska for the Thanksgiving long weekend. Um, it rained a lot and we took pictures when it wasn't! This photo isn't ours, and we didn't see the bear, but we are friends with the people that saw it while they were fishing... we MAY have been sleeping in our tent after returning quite, eh hem, early in the morning from the bar that will not close. Pretty picture at any rate. Grizzly eating a salmon. Most likely a coho.

This is the drive back to Whitehorse.

He is so cute!

And this is one of our yurts! We are using three of them for our mt biking business next year. We will have two this size to use as hotel room types and a much larger one for a living room/kitchen space. This yurt is 350 sq ft, and the other one will be 750 sq ft.

Um, we have exactly moved in yet. Luckily for us we have received quite a few housesitting jobs! The yurt is a very cool space though, and I am really excited to be living in them!

This is a car in -30.

Jack and Scotch being good and not moving. A rarity.

On Saturday we had a fondue chinois at our place. Very good turn out and everyone had a good time!

So that is about it. Sylvain is working full time at the bike shop becoming a pro in the cross country ski department. I am working part time as admin for the tourism department. We are starting to get super excited about our business. Open for business in 5 months! AHHHHHH so much to do still.
We are heading for a large shopping spree in vancouver in January followed by a "research trip" to Maui. We are going to go mt biking with their guides to see how they do it... plus go surfing and enjoy patio drinks from our condo! Wish us luck...

This week!

The first day of the broken foot... before we knew it was broken! Sylvain worked on his foot all day in his first day of work at Icycle bike shop!

The bad news from the emerg doctor - definitely broken and in a cast.

For Rejean and Nicole: this is my parent's kitchen now. Where the table is, a wall used to be!

This is the living room now. Where the rock wall is, used to be a full wall and entertainment centre area.

Finally, cute puppies! Look, all three match!
